Frida

In her Frida art pieces, Nina uses relief technique and FIMO modelling clay to show Frida Kahlo as a human being, a woman and an artist – but more importantly, to present her as a generator of all that is beautiful, antagonistic and daring in art. Like Frida Kahlo herself, the art pieces are tiny and fragile. They are deeply inspired by her artistic motives, as well as her life. They are a reminder that each of us has our own personal struggles, as well as those we share with other people, and that we should, for the sake of ourselves and the world around us, nurture things that make us unique, gentle, adventurous and fearless, and above all defiant.

Frida skillfully combined her own experience of herself and her personal struggle with the experience of the modern world, as well as the struggles that took place in it. Her approach to painting was completely new and revolutionary, while her persistence and determination inspired many people around the world.

Serious physical injuries, dramatic events in her personal, emotional and social life did not prevent her from becoming one of the most respected artists of her time. She enchanted people around her with her direct, strong, and at the same time, calm and amiable personality. Due to her captivating personality and struggle, she became a symbol. A symbol of boldness, battle for beliefs and values, courage to face difficulties or opposition, fight against the world and never giving up, even in the face of insurmountable odds.

As long as we see her struggle as important and meaningful, it represents an expression of human will and determination to achieve something truly great. As such, it is an expression of courage in each of us.
