Folk birds

The folk birds are part of a cycle inspired by folklore tradition and the children's book Bukvar. This book was an essential part of almost every child's education in former Yugoslavia, from which they learned how to read and write.

These birds are stylized as doves or swallows and feature floral motifs with simplified forms, inspired by Hungarian and Polish folk costumes.

In many cultures, birds symbolize communication and the exchange of ideas as messengers between the gods and humans. They also represent the connection between the physical and spiritual worlds, as well as the soul and spirituality. Birds are commonly associated with the beauty and diversity of nature, symbolizing the interconnectedness of all living things.

Each piece in the collection is a unique work of art that embodies the essence of these magnificent creatures and the emotional impact they evoke.
