The exhibition "Myth of the Bird" was set up on June 8, 2023, at the Gallery of the Association of Visual Artists Prijedor.

The artistic symbolism of birds ignites the imagination and stirs hearts from ancient times. Throughout the centuries, birds have been bridges between the sky and the earth, carriers of messages that convey the secrets of the cosmos.

Drawing, as the foundation of all visual techniques and the oldest form of visual art, has undoubtedly been the first means to express the fascination with the form of a bird. It has traveled, soaring with the human spirit, a rich path all the way to educational and scientific illustrations in disciplines such as medicine, biology, botany, geology, cartography, archaeology, and art history. Textbooks contained illustrations created by skilled draughtsmen, elevating drawing to a highly esteemed position as a unique educational tool.

The initial drawings in this series were created in collaboration between the author and Muris Halilovic during the realization of the project "TicoTeka". The project emerged from the shared desire of both authors to uniquely present birds indigenous to the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina, endangered and legally protected. The selection fell upon five birds: european roller, hoopoe, kingfisher, eurasian jay and eurasian blue tit. The author executed them in the technique of pencil and colored pencil drawing, returning to the origins of her own artistic creation. By developing the technique, the author bases the drawing on clear strokes and tones, skillfully blending them to achieve the effect of watercolors, thereby enabling the expression of details and depth of the drawing, providing them with liveliness and authenticity. The series continued with the selection of the following birds: black stork, common kestrel, eurasian bullfinch, common rosefinch, eurasian golden oriole and european goldfinch, which are being presented to the public for the first time in this exhibition.

Each drawing individually poses a simple question: What is the value of a world in which we have betrayed the flight of birds?
